February 2026 Blog Update

This month’s newsletter is a bit earlier than normal and with good reason. I really want to get this out before Valentine’s Day. That magical day when love is celebrated… or when you feel awful because you are single. Maybe you’ve been single so long you’ve become hopeless.

No matter what feelings Valentine’s Day elicits, it doesn’t change the fact that God deeply loves you. I made the attached to help myself remember, and maybe you need to remind yourself also. I hope the attachment is a blessing.

The “Cowboys don’t Cry” in-person meetings will kick off on Saturday, 21 February. It has been a long road to get here, and I am grateful for this opportunity. “Cowboys don’t Cry” will have 3 levels (each level being 6 to 8 weeks long) and will focus on emotional healing without going deep enough to need counselling. I’ve got levels 1 and 2 prepared, while still writing materials for level 3.

Since asking for suggestions for more adventures for Lion, we have:
* Lion and the Prickly Friend
* Lion and the Giggle Nobody Understood
* Lion and the Slow Hurry
* Lion and the Empty Place
all in different stages of development. I never thought I would enjoy writing children’s books. It makes me think about how my late grandfather used to tell me stories when I was very young. Working full-time and doing this in my spare time means I can only complete one book a month. There is so much to look forward to!

In the meantime, I’m still doing Inner Child work and Internal Family Systems work with my wounded parts. God has been really faithful. In my experience, the pain gets deeper before healing comes. Don’t try to see how fast you can heal; this isn’t a race. Take the time you need. Going slowly is OK too.
